Athena Research and Innovation Center is devoted to cutting-edge research in Informatics and Computational Sciences, including but not limited to Engineering, Medicine, Biology, Environment. Athena RIC has strong expertise in the following areas: (a) artificial intelligence, (b) integrated systems, (c) large scale data management and analysis for a wide range of digital resources, and under a strong interdisciplinary aspect. A special focus is given on outsized scientific databases (large-scale biological databanks, data preservation technologies), and scientific IT infrastructures (platform as a service paradigms for the management, processing, analysis, and archiving needs of research data and models).
