Materials Ontology Workshop
The one-day workshop, run by the Council of European Materials Modellers (EMMC) is to kick-start a bottom-up group of experts interested in "materials informatics" more particular in ontologies.
The workshop will cover:
- Presentations addressing the usefulness of ontologies for documentation of databases, search and reasoning, access and interoperability between tools and database, linking of services on the market place.
- Presentations on the state of the art of ontologies in the modelling, characterisation and processing field.
The goal in the long run is to build and find wide-spread agreement on an ontology that can be the basis of access and interoperability in the materials domain. This will prepare Big Data and Artificial Intelligence activities in the NMBP domain but also the linking necessary in a materials ecosystem.
